You are cordially invited to “Safe Routes for All Town Hall 2.0" on Thursday, September 21, 2017, at Liberty Hall, 7:00 p.m., doors open at 6:30. This event is sponsored by the Lawrence Pedestrian Coalition (PedCo) and the Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department, and is a follow up to “Safe Routes for All Town Hall” held on March 25, 2015. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.
The featured speaker is Mark Fenton, national public health, planning, and transportation consultant, who will lead an interactive community conversation on our vision of Lawrence as a walkable, bikeable community, and our recent progress toward that goal.
Candidates for city commission in the general election have been invited to attend and will be given the opportunity to share their vision for ensuring safe routes for all.
Staff is submitting their memorandum of recommendations for responding to the Pedestrian/Bicycle Issues Task Force report. This is the second item on the agenda. Public comment will be allowed following presentation to, and discussion of the memorandum by the City Commission.
